Samurai Sushi
Our favorite Sushi place EVER! A little hole in the wall over by Baptist Hospital across from the Exit Inn... Loves it! These 4 rolls were literally gone in a matter of minutes, yum! We went there for our Anniversary last month then made a quick stop at Tasti D Lite for some yogurt that we ate in the park and did some people watching, enjoyable as always!
LOVE THIS MAN!!! 4 yrs, wow! Big plans for our 5 yr next May :) We take turns planning our anniversary celebration and next year is my year. Big surprise in the works :)

Answered Prayer
I nourish my soul in prayer.
What happens after I pray? There are times when I seem to be waiting for something to happen when all the while the "happening" is in progress. When I pray for myself or another, I may not see evidence of healing right away; yet a healing is taking place.As I pray and go about my day, I keep my faith strong even though I perceive no evidence of improvement in my or another's condition or circumstance. I continue to affirm the truth of innate wholeness, and my mind is at peace.
Quietly aware of the Presence of God, I have a thankful heart that is receptive to good. I receive confirmation that God is active in all and the goodness of God is for all.
And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."--Luke 1:46-47

Water for Elephants
Water for Elephants is a historical novel by Sara Gruen. The novel centers on Jacob Jankowski and his experiences in a traveling circus called The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.
Synopsis
The story is told as a series of memories by Jacob Jankowski, a ninety-three year-old man who lives in a nursing home.
As the memories begin, Jacob Jankowski is twenty-three years old and preparing for his final exams as a Cornell University veterinary student when he receives the news that his parents were killed in a car accident. Jacob's father was a veterinarian and Jacob had planned to join his practice. When Jacob learns that his father was deeply in debt because he had been treating animals for free as well as mortgaging the family home to provide Jacob an Ivy League education, he has a breakdown and leaves school just short of graduation. In the dark of night, he jumps on a train only to learn it is a circus train. When the owner of the circus, Uncle Al, learns of his training as a vet, he is hired to care for the circus animals. This consequently leads Jacob to share quarters with a dwarf named Walter (who is known as Kinko to the circus) and his dog Queenie. A few weeks later Jacob is summoned to take a look at Camel, an old man who, after drinking Jamaican ginger extract for many years, can't move his arms or legs. Fearing Camel will be redlighted (thrown off the train while moving), Jacob hides him in his room.
The head trainer, August, is a brutal man who abuses the animals in his care (such as the new elephant Rosie) as well as the people around him. Alternately, he can be utterly charming. Jacob develops a guarded relationship with August and his wife, Marlena, with whom Jacob falls in love. August is suspicious of their relationship and beats Marlena and Jacob. Marlena subsequently leaves August and stays at a hotel while she's not performing. Uncle Al then informs Jacob that August is a paranoid schizophrenic and then gives him a threat: reunite August and Marlena as a happily married couple or Walter and Camel get redlighted. (Redlighting refers to throwing circus workers off the moving train as punishment or in order to avoid paying them[2])
A few days later after discovering that August has tried to see Marlena, Jacob visits her in her hotel room. Soon after comforting her however, Jacob and Marlena sleep together and then eventually declare their love for each other. Marlena soon returns to the circus to perform (and also to have secret meetings with Jacob), but refuses to have August near her, which makes Uncle Al extremely mad. Days later Marlena informs Jacob that she is pregnant.
One night Jacob climbs up and jumps each car, while the train is moving, to August's room, carrying a knife between his teeth intending to kill August. However, Jacob backs out and returns to his car, only to find no one there but Queenie. He then realizes that Walter and Camel were redlighted and Jacob himself was supposed to be too.
As the story climaxes, several circus workers who were redlighted off the train come back and release the animals causing a stampede during the performance.
In the ensuing panic, August is killed by Rosie the elephant, and the only one who sees the incident is Jacob. As a result of this incident, which occurred during a circus performance, the circus is shut down. Soon after, Uncle Al's body is found with a makeshift garrote around his neck. Marlena and Jacob leave, along with several circus animals (Rosie, Queenie and others), and begin their life together.

Why hello! Happy Valentine's Day. Please all hale to the Princess, see the crown? Yes please raise your hand as I am doing. Thank you.
Need to go get dressed, can't spend all of Valentine's Day in a towel people!!
Ry and I celebrated Valentine's Day by dining at Maggiano's, and it was beyond AMAZING! I love their fresh bruschetta!! Then I made my own version of homemade Reeses' Lollipops. Ryan was a big fan, as was Wyndham's teacher :) :)
wore my new Lucky TALL TALL boots, express blazer, skinny jeans, and a Red/Black hounds tooth made by me!! And Ryan was just plain handsome in his jeans, driving mocks and blazer. He is my Forever Valentine <3

What's In A Ring?
Today is the 4 yr anniversary of our engagement (yes 4 yrs OMG how did that go so fast?!!?!) And so I was looking at and admiring my engagment ring and band. I love her for so many reasons, not only is she beautiful, but she is so special to me. The diamond is a family heirloom past down from my Mother-in-law, before that her mother, and prior to that her mother's Aunt. And my darling husband, being the artist that he is designed my ring and had a family jeweler make it by hand. Due to it being made my hand you can see the slight variations is the filagree etc, some people might call them imperfections, I call it perfect! And I love that when my husband had the ring made he had it put back to it original setting that it was in, white gold. My mother-in-law is so dear to me and I love that it was passed down from her, and I love that it was her mothers as well, someone that I never met but love. And I so wish I could have met my mother-in-laws mother, who was, from what I hear beyond amazing with whit, charm and beauty. The diamond has been in the family for around 90 year and the ring, simply marvelous designed by my Mi Gran Amor (I know he sounds amazing--sorry ladies he is TAKEN)!!
So thinking of my ring got me to thinking of the reasoning behind rings so of course I Googled it, the most obvious solution - my husband mocks me because I google just about everything. So I learned form Google that the History of engagement rings dates back to Ancient Egypt, where it is said that plant sections were fashioned in to circles to signify never-ending and immortal love. It was thought that the fourth finger ( aka the "ring finger") contained a special vein that was connected directly to the heart, and therefore this became the official finger for the wedding band. How cool is that?! And the Romans, Asians, Europeans, Americans and Greeks all followed suit with the wedding ring, some with slight variations. Interseting facts, the Asian's had puzzle rings that would collapse upon removal and only the husband knew the colde to fit it back together, and early americans in colonial days would would gift their fiance with an engagment thimble and after they were wed the wife would fashion the thimble into a ring.
Why a ring? "The purpose of engagement rings and wedding bands is to convey deep emotions of eternal love, eternal happiness, eternal commitment, and eternal togetherness. In fact, these rings signify eternity - between the giver and the recipient. A ring, of course, is a complete circle with no break and no end or beginning, which means that it just goes on and on - it is eternal." Just love that, eternal love, eternal happiness!
